To create it, we spent time studying and perfecting a secret recipe based on dye plants. The blue pigment used in this process is extracted from woad, a plant long recognized for its dyeing properties. The lid, made of solid ash wood, is stained with an open-pore water-based finish. The sinuous handle, also made of wicker, is finished with the characteristic woad blue.
